What is Hypnotherapy and RTT?

On hearing the word hypnotherapy you’d be forgiven if your first thought was of stage hypnotists getting people to bark like dogs!

But hypnotherapy (and RTT® – Rapid Transformational Therapy – in particular) is very different  – it is a lovely gentle therapy where you are guided into a super relaxed state, and you remain awake and in control the whole time. Whilst relaxed, the therapist helps you to identify the root cause of your issue, work through some proven techniques to try and overcome and then reframe it, before ending with an upbeat transformative section.

Rapid Transformational Therapy® or RTT® was created by world renowned therapist and speaker Marisa Peer. She has achieved phenomenal success helping people overcome all kinds of challenges, including physical health issues, infertility, depression, anxiety, weight management, fears and phobias, and has also helped celebrities, athletes and business leaders be at the top of their game.

RTT® embraces many of the positive aspects of hypnosis and hypnotherapy however it goes further as unlike some forms of traditional hypnotherapy, it does not rely solely on positive reinforcement, but looks behind an issue to seek to find the cause. Breakthroughs are achieved by understanding and fixing the root cause, rather than just addressing the symptoms of the presenting issue.

So what does the process involve?

I like to have a short ‘discovery’ call with prospective clients, usually on the phone (or on Zoom if you prefer), before booking sessions. This gives us a chance to get to know each other a little, for you to feel comfortable knowing who you’ll be working with and to tell me about the problem you are seeking help with.

At the end of that call, we’ll then arrange a session to suit your diary. Sessions usually take up to 2 hours and I now conduct the majority of sessions over Zoom – therapists all over the world have found during the pandemic (where they had no choice but to work virtually) that clients actually prefer virtual sessions – they can relax in their own home, they don’t have to travel and sit in an unfamiliar room, they can rest afterwards rather than having to drive or take public transport (sessions can be tiring), and if wearing headphones during the session, my voice is more directly received than us sitting together in a room.

Before the session I’ll send you a form to complete with your basic information and I’ll ask you for a little more background on the problem which will help me to prepare a highly personalised session for you.

After the session, I’ll send you a ‘transformation’ recording which will contain some lovely positive imagery and thoughts which you’ll enjoy playing for 21 days after the session to help embed the ideas – many clients find that they actually play the recordings for much longer as they love the way it makes them feel. The recordings are about 15 minutes long so can easily be fitted into busy schedules.

How many sessions will I need?

The beauty of this therapy is that it rarely needs more than three sessions, and sometimes just one or two can be enough (although we often find that actually once one issue has been resolved, clients come back and say well now that’s sorted, can we have a look at this other problem I have!). Fears and phobias in particular (fear of flying, spiders etc.) usually only take one session.

How do I book?

The process is really simple – just arrange a no-obligation Discovery Call to suit you using the link at the bottom of the page.  Alternatively drop me an email to caroline@chhypnotherapy.com with a line or two about your issue and we can take it from there. Or if you’d prefer just to call directly, my number is 07971 897678

What can RTT® help with?

RTT® has helped clients over the years with a huge variety of challenges including;

– fears and phobias
– stopping smoking or drinking
– weight loss (or gain)
– infertility
– lack of confidence
– anxiety
– improved sports performance
– improved work performance
– public speaking
– health issues

and many many more.

How much does it cost?

Built into the cost of a session is the time involved in the discovery call, preparation for the session, the session itself, the recording afterwards and all follow ups. Prices are hugely cost effective when you consider that you may only need one to three sessions as opposed to the many sessions that alternative forms of therapy can take, and how much clients have likely spent on what may have been lifelong unresolved issues often after years of trying, such as weight loss.
